Me, Myself, and I

My Story

Yes, that's my normal face.

When I graduated college with a degree in broadcast, I had no idea where I would end up. If you had asked me then, I would have never said my career would take me to Iceland, Cancun, Costa Rica, and the vast, lush lands of--Canada. I would have never thought I would work with Olympic Athletes, NFL running backs, and leaders in the self-development world.

But here I am, writer turned self-taught photographer and videographer. I'd like to think it's more than just a hobby at this point. I have a passion for visual creation. I know I can bring a unique level of creativity and passion to your projects, no matter the industry.

My Early Days

In fact, I didn't even start out working with video. After I interned with KSL in Salt Lake City, I saw how all those producers lived and I knew it wasn't for me. 60 hour weeks, barely minimum wage, no family life? It was fun to experience the atmosphere I did, but I knew I had to turn elsewhere.

That's when I turned to writing. I always had a knack for it, and I had been working on a zombie novel for years before I entered the work force.

So I bounced around a few places, first for the LDS Church as a content producer then a tech reviews at Purch.com. That's where I learned I didn't want to write for a living. All the writing jobs I would find were quantity over quality. Can you write 4000 or even 10000 words in a day or two? And the pay....wow the pay. But overall, I didn't like how I felt about my career path and my wife started to notice it as well. I was unhappy and ready for another change.

The Shift to Video

In 2015, I finally got my footing in the world of video work. I started a contract gig with DoTerra and was able to help them film many of their training and product videos. It was a lot more exciting seeing my work make it in front of thousands of eyes versus the 10-15 site visitors reading about my review on soundbars.

The fact that I made it to DoTerra, little did I know the MLM industry would keep a hold on me for years to come. People said, once you're in, you're in for life.

Once I made it to Modere, life opened up. I dove hard into my craft, researching every day about the equipment, the software, the techniques. I started following creators on YouTube and eventually, my work saw this and rewarded me. I was able to record Olympian athletes, NFL players, I traveled to Mexico a few times as well as Costa Rica to record commercials. More importantly, I was able to serve different cultures while I was there and help those who needed just a little bit more compassion in their lives.

Fast forward a couple of years, 8 to be exact, and I've been to Iceland, Alaska, Canada, I've visited all 5 Utah National Parks. I've worked with some of the biggest names in the equestrian industry, taken photos for dear friends and their startups, and become a father to 3 remarkable, energetic, and creative children.

That's why I'm here. That's why I do that I do. I want my kids to see my passion for my work and hopefully when they grow up, they can find something they love, too.

At the end of it all, I'm a father and husband who loves to take pictures and record video.
